Remote Appearances

All cases scheduled for in-person hearings will be reset for remote appearances. The scheduled remote appearances are not optional and failing to appear will have the same consequences as not appearing at an in-person proceeding.
The court will send more information regarding scheduled remote appearances. You must be on the docket schedule for the judge to see you. Please contact the court to verify your status.
All virtual hearings will be live streamed on YouTube and are subject to the same standards of conduct and attire as would apply to an in-person appearance before the court.
Requirements to Appear via Zoom
  • A device capable of accessing an internet connection (PC, MAC, Smart Phone, Tablet, etc.).
  • A fast and stable internet connection.
  • A webcam attached to your PC or a built-in camera on your device that will allow the Judge to see you during the video conference.
  • A microphone connected or built-in mic that will allow you to talk to the Judge and your device must also have speakers attached or built-in that will allow you to hear what the judge is saying to you.
  • A working email address; you may need to email images or documents for the Judge’s review.
  • You will be required to provide the Court with a working email address and mobile phone number to ensure future successful contact with the Court.
·         To participate in a virtual hearing you will need a smartphone or computer with a webcam and microphone enabled.  You will need to download the Zoom platform before the scheduled hearing.   To test your device, go to Zoom Meeting Testing Link.  The Court will not be able to assist you in this regard.  When joining the virtual hearing, please use your full legal name as your screen name.  When you have successfully joined the virtual hearing, you may be placed into a virtual waiting room. You will then be brought to a virtual courtroom.
RECORDING OF THE VIRTUAL HEARINGS IS NOT PERMITTED
If you do not have the ability to attend a remote proceeding, please contact the court for more information by phone at 281-316-8716 or JP4CivilClerk@co.galvestoncountytx.gov
You may find it more convenient to accomplish certain tasks by regular mail.  For example, applications for deferred disposition, driving safety courses and certain compliance dismissals may be submitted by mail.
